This will be my first written analysis of anything film-related ever so please, do criticise me. Additionally I am Swedish so I know that my english-language skill might be lacking. The scene that I will be discussing and invite you all to discuss is from The Royal Tenenbaums, one of my all-time favourite directors Wes Anderson directed this film and this specific scene I believe is one of my.
The fact that Tenenbaums is “framed” as a book—opening with a shot of a book called The Royal Tenenbaums being checked out of a library—is perhaps already enough to divide audiences. It’s a self-conscious movie that draws attention to its own conventions.

When I was doing film at college the Needle in the Hay scene was shown as an analysis at some point and ever since then I've been meaning to watch this, from that clip I thought it would be right up my alley. I appreciate this film for its technical merits but the writing and characters didn't all click with me. Luke Wilson was the stand out in my eyes, with Gwenyth Paltrow up there too.
